I don't currently have any plans to be there myself. It will be unlikely that I'll be doing anymore touring with the B-24, as I'm no longer "officially" associated with it (since my recent job change). I do, however, continue to do a small amount of volunteer labor on the airplane and may occasionally end up with the airplane from time to time IF my services are needed for repairs, as Flight Engineer, or whatever.

The Squadron now has a new Crew Chief. His name is Jason Langley, and he'll be the one who'll be filling my shoes within the Squadron. I suspect that once the B-24 is out on tour this season though, he'll be here, working on the big, silver airplane......with me. I will still be a big part of the re-engine program on FIFI, so they haven't gotten completely rid of me yet.

Newbie to the WIX forum.

Gary,
I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to post images and answer all of the questions posed to you about Ole 927.

It has inspired me to join the Yankee Air Museum and volunteer my time to do what I can to keep history flying.

Thanks again,
Mark Popejoy

I would like to take a moment of your time and first say "Thank You" to Gary for giving me a warm welcome here at the CAF and for his continued patience as I get settled in with the working of the Squadron.

I have a very BIG set shoes to fill as I understand more and more of what Gary has accomplished while Crew Chief of both the B-29/B-24. I have only begun to read the posts he has placed on WIX and the replies from you all he has answered in detail.

I look forward to getting to know each of you here on the forum and to the future of these wonderful aircraft. I will post photos of the changes as soon as I can and update everyone regularly.

Jason

Steve,

I'm working with a few volunteers to get her ready for tour, but I'm not sure we will make Sun N Fun yet. We are also waiting on Eng #3 to return from the shop, sheet metal work and complete the annual. I will keep you posted.

Jason

I have removed the forward antenna and installed a loop antenna Gary gave me last week.

I created a panel to cover the old antenna position and opened the existing panel for mounting the loop. I will post photos of the final thing soon.

Gary had just told about this forum or I would have taken pictures throughout the process.

John Flynn has been here also for a week and has disassembled the spare 1830-94 on the stand. I will get a few pics. It is need of and overhaul and will be crated soon.

We are currently closing up engines 1,2, and 4 and building crates for shipping engine and cylinders off.

I have been quite busy just getting settled in, learning what assets I have to work with and meeting new friends along the way.

Daniel wasn't able to make it last week...but maybe this week I hope.
