A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

I'd like to point out that these pictures, as well as all the other ones from Gary Austin, belong to somebody else now. They are not the property of WIX. I donated them elsewhere and their use needs to be cleared with the current, legal owners.

As long as they are being reinserted into the original thread, where Gary posted them on a public forum for all to see and enjoy, and are not being used for any commercial purpose, I can't see why there would be any potential problem.

I have little doubt that Scott and Brad will do all that can be done. That said, it'd sure be GREAT if thread and pics could be reunited; that thread was pretty much a life changing event for me believe it or not.

Keeping my fingers crossed...

PS: THANKS Scott & Brad! 8)

Considering that the link to the pictures are definately brocken as the initial photobucket account is closed, the only way I see to reunifed the forum's thread with the pictures will be to modify each post to edit the url of each pictures. Could be done in the database also, but could be at risk for the whole database.

With the various authorization from Scott and the owner of the pictures, a small piece of code could retrieve the various message of the thread on one side, the pictures on an other side and generate a static copy of the thread, but readable "as the thread was"

When this thread was started, I joigned WIX for a few weeks only and it was a real discovery of the warbird's restoration for me, and I spent a lot of time reading the various post, so I will be happy helping to restore this thread, but of course, I will do nothing without the required authorization.

Loic
