Light Assembly Rotating Under Wing

Hi can anyone help ! I have acquired a Grimes MFG Co Light Assembly Rotating with a serial number 24414A and a Part number 67410-8. It’s a 28 Volt unit.

Not really into aircraft but into military history happened to see this item in the UK and couldn’t resist. Not sure if it military or commercial but someone will know.

I can see that the light has some age and it must of come off a larger aircraft but looking for any more information.

Thanks in advance

Alan
