The "101" used to fly with the Aggie Squadron, CAF and later was transferred to the West Houston Squadron, where it was re-painted and became "Ace in the Hole."

The photo I am enclosing, is one of several that I took from the hatch atop a C-141 attending that particular airshow.

I Need help in identifying this N number, C/N, RCAF serial, etc


Bill, that Harvard used to be owned and flown by Fred E. Thompson, who was CAF's West Houston Squadron's Squadron Leader in the 1980s. He also flew together with Pete Howard, the C-39 Draggin' Lady.

This, I got from the Warbirds Directory, 3rd Edition:

N203V / 66-2517 - Harvard Mk II owned by Fred E. Thompson. Then, it became N8BP last that I have is for 2002, owned by Harrison C. Thompson, Brookings, SD (SNJ-3 Marines 66-2517)

Although I have several images of that same airplane, several with me sitting on the cockpit, I do not have ANY where you can clearly see the "N" number!

Bill, that SNJ-4 N224X was one of our birds when I was Maint Officer with the "Cajun Wing" CAF. The paint was sponsored by Col. Joe Foretich, & Col. "Doc" Lewis. Joe & Doc had SNJ's with matching Squadron colors, & N224X was painted to match theirs.
Thanks for bringing back some memories.
