That's an obvious answer
Lol

Ever look at the fuselage formers on a Jug?

The razorback
Literally has a sharp spine
So to speak

Look at the fuselage formers on a B model Mustang

They are NOT in a sharp spine like the Jug
They are round

As is the top shape of the canopy

Obvious answer

Is the P-40Q a bubble canopy variant
Of the Razorback P-40B?

Nope

The razorback ME-109?

I don't think so

The first two XP-51's were 41-038 and 41-039, pulled from RAF production to be kept and evaluated by the USAAC/USAAF. The EAA example is 41-038, and I believe the vision/plan behind the new finish/paint scheme on the restored 43-6006/N51Z is that of the other XP-51, 41-039.

Confirmed on the Pacific Fighters page on Facebook:

Here are a few pictures durning the restoration of 43-6006. It was always our plan to restore it as the XP-51 41-039. We will be applying the finishing touches over the next few weeks.

A few of my shots of Shanty Irish from Reno. John raced it well all week, finishing 3rd in the Silver race. Impressive for a fresh restoration that wasn't being pushed hard. I have more pics from the pylons, but I haven't gotten to them yet.
