I saw it a couple of months ago and it looked fairly early on in the process, but who knows!

Rob Mackley's Lockheed 10A Electra

Spotting a video of the engine runs a few days ago reminded me of Mr. Mackley's original desire to fly her to Oshkosh. Any idea if that is still part of the discussion?

Good call - I'll ask!

Although not destined to be a flyer, what about the Wildcat currently in restoration at the Air Zoo? I understand after the restoration is complete, it will be going to the Natl Medal of Honor Museum in Texas.

If we're counting static birds... my local museum, the Connecticut Air & Space Center will be assembling our T-37 Tweet this coming spring. https://www.ctairandspace.org/t-37

We acquired this bird along with a T-33 and T-38 from AMARC back around 2002-03 I believe. It wasn't until around 2012 that our former director Drew King (aka cherrybomer here) started working on restoring the cockpit. Cliff Fava ended up taking over the project eventually and completed the refurbishment / repaint of the airframe. It was moved across the street to the open Curtiss Hangar a few weeks ago and will be tarped up for the winter, before Cliff and his team begin to assemble the airframe for public display. Cliff was also successful in seeing his first major project with the museum, the Sikorsky S-55/H-19 https://www.ctairandspace.org/s-55 go on outside display (for the time being) along with the completion, assembly, and display of the Cessna 150 project as well. https://www.ctairandspace.org/c-150

In the latest AC , O'Leary mentions some secret , never thought possible restoration to fly that's coming. I wonder what it could be? Hornet? Super Corsair out of wreckage ? TBD Devastator? Interesting.

Then there's the question of how the former Paul Allen fleet will proceed this year. The Me262 was this close to flying, the CASA 2.111 seemed very far along and then there's the Stuka.

Black Cat Pass B-17E? Walter Soplata's B-36? Brewster Bermuda from Pima? Earl Reinert's Buffalo? Big Island B-18? (sorry WIXer ypochris, just playing)

I would like to know what's happening with that Consolidated Commodore (civilian P2Y variant) recovery project in Canada... but I don't think that one will be a flyer.

While the exotic stuff is nice to dream about, right now I'd settle for some of the long time B-17 projects to finish to make up for recent losses and (permanent?) parkings to the once healthy airworthy population.

Not 100% sure if 2023 is the year, but (selfishly) wishing Bill and Will Kientz quick conclusion on their T-35A project Bill rescued from Saudi Arabia. Can one ever have too many Buckaroos? :drink3:
