Hello

Can any knowledgeable person out there tell me what the part number is for the Hamilton Standard toothpick type (or needle type) prop blades as fitted to the Dakota?

Go here and search under C-47:

Then open each of the three .pdf files and have a look...

Model: TCDS No. A-669, Rev. No. 30, McDonnell Douglas Corporation, DC3C-S4C4G
Model: TCDS No. A-669, Rev. No. 30, McDonnell Douglas Corporation, DC3C-S1C3G
Model: TCDS No. A-669, Rev. No. 30, McDonnell Douglas Corporation, DC3A-S4C4G

One of those should match the aircraft in question.

That will show the blades and hubs that are certified for use on a C-47 in the US. You can also search under "DC-3" but that will give you the data sheet for the "Super DC-3" with the R-1820.

"Toothpick" is just a colloquial description of the blade style, not an actual Hamilton Standard term.

In the US, the Type Certificate Data Sheet lists the authorized equipment and specifications for all aircraft certified in the US.
