I would like to get to a Reno race event sometime. The problem is that
Reno isn't exactly next door.

Since you are going to be there please give us regular reports!

TIA.

Mike

I'll be there -- I'll be working with NAG on Thursday/Friday as a docent for pit tours, then Sat/Sun I'll be hanging out in the Al Goss "Warlock" T-6 pit.

I'll be glad to get together for WIX meeting if there are others going!

I will be in Rick Siegfried's T-6 pit from Wed-Sunday.

Sounds like Steve has volunteered to host the WIX/Reno gathering. Well done, Mr. Dickey!

I'll be lurking in the pits all week, and Southern Cross will be down in the static area.

Just think, Reno 2005 is only 54 weeks away.

Steve

Assuming that I get back to the states in time, (just returned to Germany from Baghdad, going out again in 12hrs) I'll be there Thursday through Monday. I'll be in the Red Knight, Lickety Split and Ms. Take pits.

You guys could probably follow Randy to the Warlock pit party. Apparently it is quite the "event". Inquiring minds might want to ask about it at the warbirdaeropress.com forum because the host of the event hangs out over there. I think it is usually held on Wednesday after qualifying but I am probably wrong.

Oh and Steve I saw your post on FlyPast about Experimental N numbered airplanes flying in the UK. Definately an interesting question but somebody mentioned all the Friedkin planes that had gone over for a short time so I would think that Steve Hinton or maybe Tom Friedkin himself might be someone good to talk to about intimate details for that. I know Hinton will be at Reno flying the pace T-33. The airplane looks great BTW.

Okay, so let's throw a stake in the ground and come up with a official WIX meeting time and place.

Will everyone be in the pits at some time over the weekend? Or, perhaps we can meet at Southern Cross in the static displays?

I vote we meet at Steve's SeaFury sometime Saturday.

Saturday at 11am at Southern Cross. And don't forget to say "Happy Birthday" to my wife Allison when we're there.

She wasn't too thrilled when I told her I was going to miss her B-Day, so I bought her an airline ticket and she's coming out for the weekend.

Also, as this will be her first Reno I expect everyone to be on their best behavior and tell her how SAFE air racing is and how nothing bad ever happens (especially to Sea Fury drivers).

Maybe we should get together earlier in the week somewhere that serves "refreshments", like Friday night at the Pylon Bar?

Steve

I will be there, and on Tuesday night I plan to show about 140 color slides of the post-war Cleveland racers. Going to try and do it in the Formula hangar or in the press tent. See you there.
