Hey all WIXer's. Steve D and I just got back from going to the Warren Walkinshaw aircraft auction over in Aurgusville, ND. Wow!!!! A ton of stuff. That is a story all in itself. On the way back we stopped in at the Fargo Air Muesum and took a look around. They had a VERY impresive collection a big part being the newly restored A6M #NX8280K Zero. I took a ton of photos and have posted them all on my Webshots. Take a look I hope that you all enjoy.

Newly built A6M Zero is more like it. This airplane was never called anything other than a replica while Blade was in control, why all of a sudden is it now a restoration?

Does someone know if Friedkin sold his Skyraider and Hellcat? Maybe those are just on loan to that museum. Last time I saw both those airplanes they were based in Chino... just wondering.

The Hellcat and Skraider are on loan, and as I recall it, may be swaped with other airframes from time to time. A very good deal for the Fargio Air Museum. The Zero was built using new skins and formers (using the originals as patterns), but with alot of original castings and fittings, including the gear, and uses the identity of an original airframe. Left Chino about 3 weeks ago... Planes of Fame has a Hellcat, so it was a bit redundant anyhow.

I wholeheartedly agree, but people in other places than Chino deserve to see one on occasion too! Chino is down to two Hellcats for now...

while I agree it would be nice spare, a thought for those of us like me here in australia where there is no hellcat at all in the entire country. or at least not that I know of.

Dave, a comment on your photo captions;

The P-51 there should have the ID 44-74407, not 47-4407. There weren't any P-51Ds built on 1947 contracts...
