I would, if you started eliminating instances of aircraft that transferred ownership but didn't move then you'd be eliminating alot of airframes. If an individual was the legal owner of an airframe, even if it subsequently went somewhere else that I would count that.

Ownership is ownership. Doesn't matter if it was just a paper deal and someone never took physical possession or if the airframe actually moved locations. For historical accuracy you really need to show a complete chain of possession. You could flag the particular s/n's and show in the notes that it was part of multitrade deal and possession bypassed that particular owner.

Rob--

Yep, I go along with Craig. I know the Spit you mean...PM627, the PR.19 formerly owned by the Canadian Fighter Pilots' Association and displayed at Ontario Place beside HMCS Haida in the late 60s, then stored for several years with CWH at Mt.Hope. CFPA sold her to Dave Tallichet who traded her to Sweden (the Swedes having been the intended recipients all along). PM627 is now beautifully restored in the RSwAF museum; and Dave Tallichet was part of the process that got her there. (That I would have liked to see her stay at CWH is a moot point...!) She should definitely be listed among his aircraft--and "flagged" as to where she now is and why.

Keep up the good work...this is one of my favourite subjects and I look forward to seeing the eventual book.

Cheers

S.

Hey Craig,

Speaking of aircraft ownership, I believe some time ago you teased us with promised photos of a certain AT-21 project.

Any chance we're any closer to seeing what kind of progress you're making (Or perhaps more accurately, from what point the project is starting)?

Dan

ps. I noticed that the former Polar Air Museum folks are selling a number of items via eBay, including a V-770.

Hi Jeffery

Lets Take Mr. Tallichete, he has over the years as owned five spits. but in reality actually own two the other three are paper transferers one was part of a six plane deal.

So should I count that plane as part of Davids collection.

Cheers RR

perhaps an inclusory note, or extra section perhaps for airframes apparently bought for the sole purposes of trading, basically saying " owned in passing, delivery never truly taken and used only as a section of a trade with XXXX for airframe yzf. "

Hey Dan K. I haven't forgotten about the pics. I'll see if I can scare up the digital camera around the house here soon and see about some fresh pics. My work schedule has been a bit wacky and overtime has been berrry berrry good to me.......Leave for work about 1 pm and get home about 5:30 in the morning.....6 and 7 days a week. We've made our next to last major delivery for this year so things will settle down until a couple of weeks before the last delivery.

As to Polar's engine....well for that price they can keep it. If it were complete and had the books and was still in the foil packaging, it might be worth it. They're getting harder to find, but they do show up reasonbly often and at much better prices.

Yeah, the prices had me a little confused as well. Folks must just make that much more $$$ up in Viking country.

No rush on the photos. Believe me, I understand the 16-hour workday!

Take care,

Dan

so for really owned I gather you mean things like flew or worked on or restored or shifted around or similar things rather than bought and let sit till sold on to some-one else for something they prefered?
