Wow, I'd love to bid, these have my name written all over them, but I will have to pass for now, college money and all! What great pictures though, hope their price goes through the roof! :)

Jack, what is the history on the F4U's in formation with what seem to be 'all white' tails and stripes? Great looking paint scheme. Are they white or yellow? Love to see a current F4U in that scheme.

Wasn't that the ID markings for planes off the
U.S.S. San Jacinto, CVL-30?

This is the very late war scheme carried by VMF-213 Hellhawks assigned to the jeep carrier USS Saidor CVE-117. Brian Reynolds had asked for pictures of them because, I beleive, his FG-1D was in the squadron and he was considering the marking for his a/c after it's restoration. Although I'd rather he do it has my cousins Corsair from VMF-112.

of course I have to ask, what is the photo auction about??

I've been holding little auctions for photos periodically for the last couple of years. Everybody seems to like my photos and it gives interested people the chance to get nice reprints of them for their collections at a reasonable price. I split the proceeds between my wife and Scott to help with his expenses in operating the forum. I'm guessing, but I'm gonna say I've sent Scott between $500-$700 dollars from the proceeds. 8)
