A friend of mine would like some info on his dad's (R. B. Elliott) P-51 from WWII. The main question is: was it a B or C model. We've got conflicting info. Joe Baugher's site says it's a B.
Things we do know: it was previously flown by ace Barkey. Scrapped in Italy at the end of the war. Any further info would be appreciated.

Thanks for the replies. Steve, that's Russell Elliott's son, was just in the hangar. He said, " that's very interesting, dad never mentioned that 'cookie' wrecked the plane." Cook and Elliott were tent mates , i guess that's what you call it. Steve was very grateful to see that people have responded to his request. Really would like to see the photos posted.
