Leave it to the military to make an unnecessary name change that says the exact same thing!

It reminds me of when I used to work at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. During the mid-1980s, the Navy saw fit to change the name to "Naval Medical Command, National Capital Region", also changing the "Bureau of Medicine and Surgery" to "Naval Medical Command".

Before the 1980s were done, the Navy decided they didn't like the new titles. Bethesda reverted back to "National Naval Medical Center", and "Navy Medical Command" went back to the original "Bureau of Medicine and Surgery". The whole excercise was an utter waste of taxpayer dollars.

I imagine that everyone and their uncle will continue to refer to the museum as the "Air Force Museum" than it's new name.

Someone comes to a new job, and wants to impress the boss.

What to do? Well, come up with a new logo for the group, a new letterhead, new business cards, change the name of the place and the titles of those working there.

I saw this happen many times when I worked at a hospital in Texas.

Of course, the new person to hit the P.R. chair, did the same thing again. Tons of money wasted, because people continued calling the hospital by the same name as always.

But, I guess, justified somewhat the high salaries of people with nothing productive to do for society.

End of mini-rant

Saludos,

Tulio

at least this one is a bit more honest than a tactic our politicians use over here.

it seems whenever they have a bill they really want through the senate or whatever they decide to change the flag as well. In the outcry to prevent the changes to the flag, the other thing sails through unnoticed except by those who know how smokescreens work.

Typical...the rules for when you become the new boss are:

"Hire someone, fire someone, and paint the walls."

People can't make rank/get promoted unless they do something like that :)
