Jeffery,

The Movie is jet Pliot staringJohn Wayne and Janet Leigh. The Highlight is the Tail Chasing in the movie done by Chyck Yeager and Bob Hover.

The B-36 part was done with the guys from Loring AFB up here in Maine, the F-94b came from Eathen Allan AFB.

Cheers RER

I kinda thought Janet Leigh was the highlight of that film myself. I'm as warbird happy as anyone, but you have to keep it in perspective :)

Another movie that might have had the Red F-84F would be "The McConnell Story" with Alan Ladd and June Allyson. Got some nice F-86 stuff!

Gentlemen,

There was a movie staring Robert Mitchum, who played a USAF pilot during the Korean war and they used F-84s to protray the Mig-15 in the air-to-air combat sequences. As I recall the F-84s were painted light gray overall with the red star to identify the jets as Communist Migs. They did not use the markings shown in the photo on this web site. Sorry, cannot remember the name of the Hollywood film.

"The Hunters" also starting Robert Wagner is the movie that Mitchum does where he's flying 86s. Based on the book by James Salter, who I believe flew 86s in Korea
