Warbird Information Exchange

Ok guys, I feel like I know a little bit about the Corsair but I recently have received an email regarding the forward radio mast on the Corsair that has me stumped. Which models have it, which don't? Why? Not as easy as it sounds because I have lots of pics showing the same models with and without.

Only installed when HF or VHF-Lo equiped maybe?

It definitely has to do with the type of radio installed. There were several different solutions, and attachment points for the antenna wire as well, which were on the same basic aircraft model. This was especially true with the -1 birds.
