TEXAS RAIDERS is coming to Lexington, Kentucky on July 18th (Thursday) and will be flying Living History Flights (AKA rides) and ground tours.
We will be operating out of the Aviation Museum of Kentucky again. (Nice Folks!)
And there is some sort of GIGANTIC Antique and Exotic Car show (The Keeneland Classic Car Show) across the road from the Airport.
(In fact some of our members are showing up with their antique Bianchi)

Then after the weekend we are preceding to Savanah, Georgia July 22-26 for what may be the last re-union of the 8th Air Force Association. I am only spreading rumours as I hear them! :axe:

Either way- I am excited to get to see the 8th air Force Museum and meet the veterans there, which is my way of saying... The stars all aligned and I AM ON THE CREW for this one! 8)

Hope to see you B-17 fans out there.

Rides are available at both stops. Call: 1-855-FLY-A-B17

Dear Diary,
GAWD it is great to be Wing Leader again!
A Maintenance Col. reported an involved problem he was having with the Aircraft this morning.

And I was able to THANK HIM for keeping me informed of the problem and to PLEASE inform me when he had it fixed! :axe:

But seriously- TEXAS RAIDERS is undergoing Winter Maintenance and is up on stands awaiting the bolts for the Bomb Bay carry through spar -recurring AD. The spars and holes tested fine, but the bolts were ready to be refreshed.
Additionally, all four Hamilton Standard Prop ADs came due this year. We are working on introducing some new propellers one by one in the off-years so that we can stagger the recurrence on the AD.

Various avionic squawks are being tended to.
All the small stuff starts to add up on the punch list, but we are hoping to be back making loud, proud round-engine sounds by Mid- March.

So it only seemed natural to post some photos. I will undoubtedly edit this post a blue gillion times because I just got in from a cold raw hangar and I am feeling like a piece of COLD burnt toast. :|
