Hmmmm......did I read correctly in the beginning of this thread that Paul Allen bought it for restoration to airworthy? Then it meanders off to being put in the NASM???

Two different aircraft; here is a link to a flickr set (not mine) showing the NASM example:

will be VERY cool to see that up and running again!

One of my favorite Aurora Model Kits was of the Black Widow.

FYI: The Smithsonian P-61 is indeed on display at the Udvar-Hazy site at IAD. Unfortuantly, it is tucked behind a couple of aircraft and cannot be viewed nor photographed that well. It has not been restored and is still in original USAF / NACA markings. Still neat just the same! I was at U-H on December 23,2008.

...through diplomatic circles, that are still in china. The rumor stems from the Chinese overtaking an allied air field in korea where the three aircraft were sitting. Has anyone else heard of this?
:D

Rob Rohr? Who is that? And how did he get this information? Just curious about the validity.

Mr. Rohr was banned from WIX a long time ago. This thread was started five years ago.

I saw the date but I've heard rumors of another P61. All rumors have a grain of truth to them.

Who's going to fix it, you have to go get it first and there is only one man that can take on that project. Cpt. Austin and his fearless sidekick, the trailer.....
