Wow great pictures, I really enjoyed them. I just bought a new digital camera and I was trying it out when the Collings Foundation B-17 and B-24 was in Maryland and Delaware last October. This coming air show season I would like to take a ride on the B-17. When they are giving rides to the B-17 and B-24 go up together? That is can I ride on the B-17 and take in flight pictures of the B-24? Or do they go up singly?

Great pics Jim, would it be possible to use some of the pics for the registry?

is that a Do24 and if so do you have any details on it?

The Do-24 was at the Dornier Museum and is ex Spanish AF. The Heinkel is actually a CASA and will be displayed in appropriate Spanish AF markings when finished...no doubt it would have been displayed in fake Luftwaffe ones if it was being done anywhere else other than Germany

Thanks Dave, you nailed it. The sister ship of this Donier is the one the Donier Grandson is flying around the world. Its interesting to note that alot of the aircraft at this museum are regular flyers. There is a Storch, a Waco, and a Cessna 195, along with a few others. To look at the Casa you would think they are making it airworthy...all new wiring, fittings, fuse box...they really spare no expense in either static or airworthy restorations.

The Ball turret is quite the ride. It's really eerie..all you really hear is the wind noise and it is very bright in there when comparing to being in it on the ground. It's not at all uncomfortable and I am 6'1 180, in fact with external ammo boxes I can nearly stretch my legs straight out. Hand cranking it around is no fun but it gets the job done...it is well worth the view. Would love to sight in an FW-190 thourgh that round armored glass!!!
