Loking good Jim. I'm still not sure about heading up this weekend, but if I do I'll give a yell.

It's 1:23am and just got in from the Hangar. Ran Princess today. I'm tired, running out of beer, and Rich is still probably driving home. So I'll post the pics for him. Good night. jb

filling her with fluids (I know I know the header tank is the wrong color but Rich forbade me from painting it -- the original one had an internal crack and needs OH and this is our spare)

Jim Beasley, a few questions for you:

1) When is the official GML DVD going to be available for purchase?

2) I know that you guys filmed it in HD. Do you eventually plan on releasing it on Blu-ray sometime down the road?

Thanks for the interesting thread and keep up the good work! :D

Ang at Stallion 51 is coordinating all of the video stuff; I know they're working on the DVD but can't tell you the format or when. I just know it's taking to long to get mine! jb

Well we finally flew her today. The Roush engine ROCKS. It's awesome and smooth like a turbine. Really sweet.

This has been a real fun last few weeks with everyone on WIX. Thanks for interacting with us and stop by when you're in the neighborhood or at a show. jb

starting to button her up:

It has been a bit busy here lately so I haven't been up to posting pics each day.
Here are some to cover last Fri thru today-
Getting set up to hang the prop. This is the same one that was removed from PE.
Image
Image
Prop in place.
Image
What the inside of a Hamilton Standard prop hub looks like. The 4 gears are mounted on the base of each prop blade. They all get set to a degree which is marked on the base of each blade. In this case it is 65 degrees. The prop dome also is referenced for 65 as the high pitch and a stop prevents the dome from going any higher. The dome has a large gear which meshes with the gears on all 4 blades.
Image
Tightening the prop nut. 180 lbs at 5' per the book.
Image
Installing the dome.
Image
Prop about done. The handle on the dome is to help hold the thing. It's pretty heavy and round so getting a good hand hold is difficult.
Image
Fri night runs.
Image
Image
Blast off this evening. (Sat 06/07)
Image
Coming back- Follow the dark path, you'll find the hangar,
Image
Back and nothing but bugs to clean.
Image
Ready for another day.

Well done Jim and Rich. Do you all have any shots of running it at night by chance??

TIA,

Lynn

Thank you for the photos Jim and Rich! Good news on both Bald Eagle and Princess...it is good to see that they are back in their element. I take it that there isn't too much housing near to where your hangar is? :D Though I wouldn't mind hearing a Merlin any time of the day.

Iclo, it is for flight sim. Currently I am finishing off the cockpit and gauges. It should be ready mid July.

Not to insult your intelligence, Jim, but I believe he was specifically talking about a picture of PE. Is that picture you posted not a Spitfire?

I wish the shots we took showed flames but it was so dark and my camera so crappy it was all dark. So I don't have any of PE showing flames at night but this pic does show a unique shot of a flame. I thought it was neat.
