Does anyone have a good quality photo of the B-25 of Mexican Registration that was burn't and "buried" on location. This is the one that has eluded me for years, and would like to add to my collection.
Need Civils and Serial.

Thanks in Advance.

This airplane is a B-25N.

The civilian registration is listed as XB-HEY.

The AAF serial number is B-25N # 45-8843.

An excellent article about the B-25s used in the filming of CATCH-22 can be found in the
May/June issue of WARBIRDS INTERNATIONAL (Vol. 27/No. 4).

Also see: B-25 MITCHELL IN CIVIL SERVICE by Scott Thompson

Good Luck with your research.

TonyM.

Ya Know, I know I suffer from CRS, I read that article...and forgot all about it. Still have the mag. What I am looking for in this vast wealth of knowledge and photographers in here is a good quality photo I can get hold of to add to my collection of Catch 22 aircraft.

You better show it after all of that.

This was one of eighteen Mitchells used in the motion film "Catch-22". It was the former USAF 45-8843 and one of the last B-25s built. It was originally civilianized as N8091H but had received Mexican registry when he shot this photograph at Long Beach in 1968.

I love how I can always rely on WIX to provide the information I am looking for. :)

I have created a list of the aircraft used in Catch-22. The list links to the individual aircraft identities in our Warbird Registry. Check it out and let me know if there are any problems.

I'd also refer anyone with an interest in this airframe to an extensive amount of material and photos included in the August 2014 update at my Aero Vintage Books B-25 News page:
