B-17 Radio Room Pics Needed

While you're at it could someone tell me the size of the tail wheel tire on a B-17? My late friend, Gus Vincent that used to own the Catalina N9521C, once told me the nose tire on the Cat is the same as a B-17 tail wheel tire, 30" I was hoping some of the folks on WIX here could find out for me. The nearest B-17 for me to look at is the one in Tulare, CA. Thanks.

Thanks for all the great pics! I am getting some good ideas for how I want to construct the display- I have it sketched out on paper at the moment. I think the first version may get redone completely- Might just take that one & use it as a home mount, and build version 2 completely form scratch- since I was going to do a 90% overhaul anyway...

Anyone have a good shot of the BC-375 transmitter table? I have gotten a few good details, but need a side shot for some more clarification of its construction.

Looks like a radiused 1-1/2 inch ply with beaded metal edging with a extruded 1" square tube stock leg brace*

That's a fantastic restoration of "My Gal Sal".I wasn't even aware that there was an "E" model in a restored condition.One very minor difference is the crank handle extensions compared to the manual.How's that for nit-picking?

A little different from the "my Gal Sal", as this one has a used, lived in look to it. Interesting shot of the Radio station overhead .50. I had not seen that particular mount.

I don't suppose that these pictures will help your project,but I ran across them in an old manual that covered the YB (Y1B)-17 through the B-17D.The radio room picture isn't the best quality,but it's from the B-17B.



This one shows the armament layout for the B-17B



This one is for the B-17C and must be from after they were upgraded to near D model specs as it features twin .50's in the uper and lower positions



This is from the B-17D and is nearly identical to the C model diagram
