Does anyone know where FiFi was headed today?
I caught a brief glimpse of what I think was a B-29
headed west over Mobile Bay.

Thanks,
Owen

Owen, the tour schedule indicates she's supposed to be in Birmingham through the 23rd and is due in Asheville, NC some time on the 24th.

I know how you feel. I was out back mowing the lawn one day when FIFI came chugging along through the cumulus. Didn't think of the running mower until she was past...it's a wonder I still have all ten toes.

I work for a shop in Costa mesa,Ca.restoring and repairing Ferrari's.We are under the flight path of some flights from Orange County airport(aka-John Wayne/Santa Ana)I had my head under the hood of some Ferrari when I detected the unmistakable roar of the Colling foundation's B-24.Naturally I had to drop everything and rush out the door to take in the majesty of the sights and sounds and proceeded to bang my head on said hood.I dont know if I did more damage to my head or to the hood,But I didnt notice until the plane had passed.I repeated this exercise numerous times over the next few days as the B-24 and the B17 (nine-o-nine) flew many happy people on their way to meet Walter Mitty! .....Tim....

I just go my leave approved and will be heading up there in the morning to help Gary change out #1. Should be a fun way to spend a couple of days!

Hey Bad... you'll have to take a couple pictures so that we can see that you and Gary really know what you are doing! Talk about a job to take you back to another time in history. Imagine working on a ground crew in the Pacific where those guys were changing a couple engines a day!

Oh it's not Gary that I'm worried about. He knows what he's doing! Me on the other hand.....well it can't be much different than four Skyraiders parked side by side. I've worked on those before.

With the temperature and humidity here in the Carolinas, it will be just like the Pacific in WWII. I nearly died just mowing the grass yesterday!
