I had a couple of phone calls on my answering machine last night when I got home from some Lady asking about coming to see the B17.

The second one was quite insistent that she get a call back because they, "were planning their day tomorrow."

So this AM I left a message on her machine that I was working on the B17 until past ten and didn't want to call her too late and the B17 is under heavy maintenance and there is no way I can let anybody tour through the airplane because the floors are up and generally trying to convince her we ain't Disney Land and Mickey isn't going to meet and greet you at the gate.

20 minutes later my answering machine went off with, "Oh goody, we will be out sometime before noon because my ten year old Grand-Daughter REALLY wants to see the B17..." Click.

So how I hope this all works out is MaMaw is going to bring her little Sugar-Booger out who will fall in love with the B17 the way we did and she will grow up to be the NEXT GREATEST Generation who will care for our baby after we are all long gone to Warbird Heaven.

I wish I could tell Airbosses joke about stepping on a duck, but this is a family venue, afterall!

Have a great weekend,

SPANNER

Great story Spanner. So, did she get her gander at the big bird? I'm doing what I can. My 10yr old is a warbird nut! He got to crawl through Yellow Rose last time we were out that way (thanks again Bluehawk) and he wants to go to Fantasy of Flight every time we drive past it!

I got the report from those that was there at the time... because I wasn't...
The 10 year old was very non-committal when asked about her interest in B17s. The concensus was that it was probably MaMaw who was the driving force behind this whole mission.

They spent about 15 minutes, thanked the Cols., then were on their busy way.

Makes me kind of wonder if there wasn't a Navigator in the woodpile at some point in Grandmaw's past, but either way, doing a good deed is its own reward.

Triangle P... Being a 384th fan what better name could one come up with than Triangle P? :D
