Fred Cleveland, commanding officer of Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) Southwest, presents representatives of the Marine Corps with a check to benefit their Toys for Tots campaign at Naval Air Station North Island. Military and civilians from the 4,200-member FRC donated toys and a check to benefit the Marine Corps Reserves’ Toys for Tots Campaign for the holiday season. Here's 42-6317, 444th Bomb Group (VH), converted into a tanker in the CBI. And yes, she did make it back to the States by December of 1944.

Dan, that is the diamond tread tire fresh off the assembly line. I've seen some photos of training P-39s with that tire mounted also.

Here is a photo that will warm the hearts of anyone who has had to get a COLD airplane started so training can commence...... This was taken at Coffeyville AAF, Kansas. Roughly 250 frozen BT-13s just resting.
