Hi all,

At last I got to see some warbirds fly this year! I went Saturday got there around 730. But not much was around. Finally they started to fly in. First up was the Lysander and she made two passes before landing. Second came the Firefly from behind just slow into final. Then another surpise a Hawker Sea Fury came in. No passes on that. :( The SBD did not fly she was in the hanger all day. One thing that is great about Geneseo is that you get really close to the flying. B-17 Movie Belle made some great passes! One was a 90 degree bank, leveled out, then climbed pretty steap. And close too! It was a great show and it featured a lot of very rare airplanes. Many of which I have never seen before. I have to say my favorite was the Lysander. I love the underdogs and I just love this thing. The paint sceme is really cool too. I have to say the majority of warbirds were CAF birds!!

Sea Fury's are cool! 8)

The CAF's P-51C. Good to see it flying. 8)

This showed up half way through the show. I was the first to spot it. HEY! Jerry Yagen is here! My first time seeing this type of bird and it is beautifully restored! The craftsmenship was just outstanding! 8)

This made several passes with "Sky Boss".

Another new apperance at Geneseo. "Never Miss"! 8)

The CWH Westland Lysander. My favorite bird to see at Geneseo. 8) Another fine work of craftsmenship. 8)

Firefly! My first time seeing one in person! It had a unique sound to it. Lovely! 8)

Hope you like!

Thanks,
Nathan

Glad you were rewarded with great weather! Excellence shots. Love that pic of Red Nose sitting on the grass...could be 1944 if you did this in b&w!

Great shots Nathan! I like your angle on "NeverMiss" taking off the best, personally! Super weekend, huh!

Thanks guys. I am actually a little disapointed in my pictures. But then again most of you got years of practise. My main enemy is dust. It's just kinda bumber for me after taking 900+ shots only about 40 are descent. But yes "Never Miss" is probably my best shot. Thanks all I appreciate it. I will post some more shots later in the week.

Much humbled,
Nathan

Dude, that's how professional photogs work -- they take 900 shots to get 9 good ones. Okay, well, maybe a little more than that, but 90 is still borderline too high a number. I'm not a pro, but I'll bet I won't catch any flak from those who are for that statement. So be thankful you came along after film went out and digital came in, or you'd really know what being bummed is. :P

Looks like a great show!

Wow! A Firefly, Lysander and Dragon Rapide at the same show in the U.S.? And on grass! I am extremely jealous. I have to make it to this show some day.

Excellent pics, Nathan!

INCOMING!!!

Just kidding. It's mostly true. Pros shoot so many in order to have the best to choose from (different lighting, background, facial expressions, etc exist in each image), and it's the best combination of those that you want to have as a representative image. :)
