Thanks for posting the info. Good stuff. Dumb question, are any parts from the airframe to be salvaged to aid in the restoration of future B-24 aircraft or is this Liberator to be left in place as a monument and testement to those who flew her ? For my own personal note, I would really like to see her brought out of the jungle at some point, perhaps to be restored if enough of her is left in tact for the basis of a restoration.

Just my thoughts of course, but since the Liberator airframes are so scare....I would think that bringing her "home" would at the very least be some sort of option here.

That is ok....They posted it as a memorial type site, so no, they cant be taking any parts off the bird.

too bad, they should take it and make it a flying memorial to all those who served.
