Cracking news from MeierMotors !!!!

Hardly the first days have passed in the new year, we can already present an absolute highlight:

Something big is coming up - a Douglas A-26 Invader is making its way to Bremgarten!

The crew of MeierMotors helps with the pre-buy inspection. Owner of this fantastic, historically significant, aircraft is the "Tina Fly GmbH" based in Eschbach.

As soon as the weather "rises" the fast aircraft will be ferried to EDTG - we are thrilled and looking forward to this task.

Great news, Matthias! The On-Mark converted A-26B 44-34769 (N500MR). I look forward to seeing this aircraft back in the air again and to see what the guys at MeierMotors will do with it to make it perfect.

Looks terrific. Good luck! I've talked to a lot of guys that flew them in the three wars, Air National Guard and civilian. Everyone loves them. THe only thing negative they ever bring up is the nose gear can be problematic. I know you guys already know that.

.... and the next highlight at the shop - Hawker SeaFury number 3 in the shop

Stefano Landi, a well experienced and well know Italien aerobatic- and warbirdpilot purchased that wonderful SeaFury with support of MeierMotors Aircraftsales from Walt Bowe / California. Korey Wells, MeierMotors partner at the West Coast helped to dismantled that fine bird and prepared the SeaFury for shipping over the pond. Fine thing, the SeaFury was part of the former Guido Zuccoli-collection and of course they will show that bird besides the ex-Zuccoli Fiat G.59 based at MeierMotors.

The team will bring back that aircraft to perfect conditions.

Thanks to Stefano Landi for your confidence,
Thanks to Korey Wells for your support
Thanks to Walt Bowe for the deal

5th of February 2019

CEO of MeierMotors Achim Meier took the former "Queen of hearts" to the skies over South Germany. The first flight after working-over went absolute perfect. That fighter is really a stunner and the owner slightly proud .....

The team made a fantastic job with that plane, and Julian Heinrich, responsible mechanic for that project, is very very pleased with the performance.

mission accomplished .... the A-26B Invader (#44-34769 civil reg N500MR) landed safely after ferry flight from Greece. The route was Athens-Korfu-Perugia-Bremgarten EDTG. It was really a blast as Carl Wymann buzzed the airfield with that fast twin.

Image

The new owner TinaFly GmbH (Ltd) was more than happy as the bomber landed smooth on the airfield. MeierMotors is ordered to do the restoration process. Some work left I suppose.

Image

The ferry crew from left to right : Julian Heinrich, Felix Ohlhoff (mechs MeierMotors), Achim Meier (CEO MeierMotors), Carl Wymann (PIC), Lukas Meier (navigator)

Later some more pictures and of course more later ;-) the restoration process

That sure looks like a K with paddle blades, wingtip tanks and rocket rails.
