Judging from the tail shape and size the Boeing in the first photo looks like a B-50. The B-29 in photo 4 is likely at Bechtel-McCone for modifications. If memory serves they were still doing B-29 modifications for the USAF during the time period these photos were taken.

pretty small update ...

the cowlingsflaps attached to the airframe, everything fits. The flaps will be disassembled again and will be painted in flatblack. Then again assebled to the plane. The mainhatch in front of the cockpit is also ready and fits perfect. This part had to be built new by the bodywork-team of MeierMotors.

Matthias,

I sent a message to a good friend of mine who knows a few Corsair operators in the US that fly the F4U-5NL aircraft. Hopefully he can find out some information for you on accessing some drawing information for the manufacture of the flame damper shields on the aircraft. Hopefully he will get back with me with some information that I can pass on to you.

The aircraft looks great! I saw her when she flew at Flying Legends 2010 in the F4U-7 configuration. I hope that you will be bringing her to both Flying Legends 2011 and also the Autumn Airshow at Duxford. The Autumn Airshow will be featuring aircraft of the Korean Conflict and the aircraft in her VMF(N)-513 markings would make a wonderful addition to that show.

Please keep us posted on the progress of aircraft 124541.

Best Regards,
Lance Kuhn

Dear Matthias,

You can also contact Baptiste SALIS from "Les casques de cuir" In France, they are currently in La Ferté Alais in France, it is a bit closer from Bremgarten. They are refurbishing a F4U-5N (124724) and they have original flame drapners on it. They probably can help you and it will be easier to have a look.
I remember that the previous owner of 124541 has sold the radome of your Corsair to this society, may be a good opportunity to make a copy too?

Great job on the Corsair!
Please salute Achim and Maxi for me.

Hi Matthias,

The Corsair is looking very nice. I cannot wait to see her with the wings unfolded and outside. Hopefully her first flight is not too far away.

What are the plans for her this upcoming airshow season? Hope to see her a couple of times at Duxford this year.

Lance
