RickH or anyone:

Are there any updates on the status of the Collings Foundation F-100F Super Sabre? Seems like there were some issues being worked on a while back, but have not heard anything recently.

It would be fantastic to have a 3-ship Vietnam commemorative flyby of the TA-4F, F-100F and F-4D at an air show one of these days. I would travel a ways to see that.

Jim, we were hamstrung for 2 years by the FAA policy regarding issuance of airworthiness certificates for former military aircraft. We were supposed to just make a notification to the new FSDO where the aircraft will be based ( Houston ). Unfortunately individuals in Washington got involved and directed that we would be pushed into a new certificate application, in spite of the fact that we already had a nonexpiring certificate. That was finally resolved about 2 months ago and we are now waiting on the receipt of new carts from England for the seats. We are all waiting anxiously to get her back in the air !

All the best to the team - that first roll-out photo is beautiful! I hope everything gets sorted and she flies again soon.

Bringing back this 10 year old thread, i noticed the Collings F-100 has been de-registered. Does anyone know what the situation is with this aircraft?

I checked the FAA site and it had N26AZ as still valid until 02/29/2028. I'm interested as well as I use to work on this jet while it was with Tracor Flight Systems.

Would have been cool if they had restored it in Flight Systems colors....

I seems aero visuals has two different jets mixed up. The Collings F-100F was formerly N415FS (56-3844) now registered as N26AZ. N417FS (56-3842) was sold at auction to Darryl Weflen at Mojave back in 2020, and was still in Mojave as of May 2022. I believe it's still there. Tracor Flight System at one time had six ex-Danish F-100F's 414-419.
