To fill in those of you who have asked, today our Percival Prentice has a running motor that has been realiable on every start!! We are quickly on our way to a flight. Still months off, but HUGE step to get an upside down motor that spins backwards running again!

Flight control cables are good to go, minus some re rigging. Surfaces have been redone few years back.

Flaps check, Air Compressor Checks, "Most" guages check, mag run but we will be getting them redone once we are ready to fly regularly. The same goes for the prop.

Annual is continuing on. Repairs are continuing on. No corrosion anywhere that isnt fixable quickly. Last owner did a great job on coating all surfaces inside wings & fuselage.

Hoping to find someone(s) who would like to volunteer to help strip her down and repaint her back to her original RAF color scheme or back to the paint job she had back in the early fifties, white top half, light blue bottom half.

Heres a pic of her recently during her rebuild, and one of her in the early fifties.

The RAF scheme wouldn't have been silver with light blue beneath. More like all over silver with yellow training bands. Are you planning to sell her once she is airworthy?

David - if you look again I think noizeedave is referring to the civilian scheme as 'OLP when he mentions the light blue! It's wonderful to hear she's being cared for. I recall her at Exeter before she left these shores and was intrigued to see her in California a few years back when I caught up with her there. Not sure if there are any others now airworthy beyond Ms Saggers example and Air Atlantique's both here in the UK.

Do keep us posted of progress!

Tim

Tim - I believe the Southend former Bob Batt example is still nominally airworthy

Thanks for correcting me on the colors. I actually am still waiting more info on her original RAF paint scheme.

But yes the plan is to list her for sale after she is airworthy. Of course I have to get my flights in on her first, but being thats shes a post warbird, we are looking to get rid of her and replace her with another warbird from WWII.

Anyone interested, please let us know.

Thanks

Congrats on getting it back into the air and finding a new home! Nice video.

I dont know much about the Percival Prentice, but I think the camo/yellow prototype scheme is pretty nice.
