Re: Gateway Fighter & Aircraft

Earlier this month, I stopped –once again- at the Bissell Auto on Choteau Blvd. in St. Louis, Mo.

There was another T-33 fuselage on the lot, without any serial numbers visible from the street.

Today, I noticed that the T-33 has been moved to the rear of the lot, and also noticed a civilian registered (N37800) Sikorsky S-55 / H-19 [Per the FAA, this is UH-19D 55-4944] Additionaly the first T-33 on the lot, has been mated to a rear fuselage from an RCAF bird.

The images are of a lower resolution, because they were taken wiith my telephone’s camera.

Looks like Dan has been busy this Summer. All this stuff would have been converted into beer cans long ago had he not saved it from the smelters. He's got more cool stuff in his warehouse. :) He has had some problems with theft so he is careful about who gets near the stuff. A few years ago, some locals backed a pickup through his 8' fence and took off with boxes of parts including some F-16 tail feathers from an ex-Thunderbird. He has some very complete ex-Soviet jets also. One of these days, I think he will put together a cool museum.

I wish he'd let me take pictures of the stuff at the warehouse.

I wouldn't steal...much :drink3:

Tulio,
I'll give Dan a call on Thursday. I'm down here in Florida until Sunday but I need to catch up with him anyway. He's a good guy and I doubt he would have any issues with you seeing the rest of his "stuff".

Thank you, Al.

Assure him, that if he does not want any photos published, I am very good at honoring those requests. BUT, I'd appreciate the chance to document through images, the aircraft that he has stored.

Thanks again.

Tulio

I sure hope he'd let the photos be published when you get inside Tulio! No telling what treasures he has hidden from public view :)
