Any update on these? Did they build three?

D-FWSC (cn 990003) The first of the 3 Fw 190 "Longnose" rebuilds in the Flug Werk hangar. The original Jumo 213A has been replaced with a specially prepared Allison V-1710 V-12 engine. Excellent work, and a really nice lloking bird. I am really looking forward to see the first one of these flying.

AFAIK Flugwerk did build 3 Fw-190 D`s. One is located in Belgium with Eric Vormezeele, to be fitted with an original Jumo 213 engine, no updates to current status of project that I am aware of. Second one, "Black 12", was with Tom Blair, fitted with Allison engine, but never flew. Reportedly now with Jerry Yagen to be fitted with Jumo 213 as well.Third one was (is?) with Flugwerk, to be operated by themselves. Status unknown, I believe to be fitted with Allison, but I do not know for sure. Maybe someone else has more or solid recent information?

It appears that Yagen does indeed have an FW190D, although I can't tell from the registration whether it's a new build with the Allison or not.

http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_Results.aspx?NNumbertxt=623TB

I would guess from looking at the serial number that it is probably a new build. From looking at the Preserved Axis Aircraft website, the serial number doesn't match the Werk Nr. of any of the listed original survivors.

I think Matthias said he would give us a new thread topic to follow this rebuild. I don't believe it's been shipped to Meiers yet. It will very exciting to see a Dora come to life.

It appears that Yeagan owns the remains of #211028, but I don't know if this ID will be part of the new build.

And this is the first time I'm seeing any info on this rebuild at Sandy Air Corp. It's being rebuilt to static display.

Gentlemen, My name is Dave and I volunteer down at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach VA owned by Jerry Yagen. I asked Mr.Yagen about all his FW 190s (He owns 7 BTW) 2 FLUGWERKS and the other 5 are orginals. The D9 is currently in Germany as said above getting the 213 installed. Our A8 is scheduled to fly at our WARBIRDS OVER THE BEACH 2012 in May.

I like the motor mount design. Pretty ingenious. Looks like it doubles as a heat shield.

Dave,

Has the center-of-gravity / weight issues been fixed on the A8 yet? I heard it was very tail heavy given that theres no armor or armament up front. Seems like converting the airframe over to R-2800 has fixed some of the frames like Frasca's. Is this true?

This is great.I love 190s real or replica. Its just cool to see the industry thriving with builds of stuff, that as kids,we never, ever thought we would see in the air.I wish we lived 150 years so we could build all the really cool birds all over again. We are running out of time.

Warbird kid,
On our A8 the only issue we had with it was we had a weight balance problem with the prop hub as per the Fighter Factory guys. Meijer Motors was blaming the prop company and the prop company was blaming Meijer Motors. It was a never ending pissing contest until the Fighter Factory guys came up with a solution. To answer your question on ours...yes the weight issues have been squared away.
