Hmmm... never heard of it. Looked it up. With 201 built it will be a quick section to code. If anybody has any pictures of identiiable NP-1s (BuNo known, etc...) please send them in!

Okay, seems like one of these was restored and is the sole survivor. Not sure of it’s whereabouts. Also, I believe President George H. W. Bush soloed in this type. His logbooks would yield which aircraft these were.

Are Lockheed Lodestars forgotten? Used to be derelict everywhere!

The NP-1 that survives intact is at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. It was restored by the Wright family in Oregon. Jack Cook was quite familiar with this airplane. It is airworthy, but has not flown since coming to Tulsa. The engine has been run, but that's it. The Wrights were open to it going to Pensacola, but didn't want to give it away. Our museum in Tulsa bought it from Jeff Wright. There is another example on the FAA registry, which is essentially the leftover portions of the group of aircraft the Wrights assembled in the 1960's. I have no idea if it has been in the restoration queue or not. 201 were built, plus a prototype. I have some photos that I can share with you.

Maybe so! Probably not forgotten if all the airport managers are trying to get them removed.

Hmm. Speaking of which, was Lodestar CF-CPA ever recovered from its forced landing site in Quebec? The recovery team's website is still up but nothing appears to have happened since 2008 or so.
