OK... another Spitfire question?

I'm sure RR232 flew in Australia in the 80's after some kind of restoration, but (I think??) was promptly grounded by metal being found in the engine oil filters?

According to the registry it is again under restoration in Devon, UK... does anyone know where and by whom?

RR232, a project then owned by Peter Sledge, was recovered primarily from South Africa and went through a number of stages of rebuild in Peter's hands including a fuselage restoration by Ian Whitney at Point Cook in the late 1970's/early 1980s.

It never flew in Australia and later was sold and departed the Country.

It has recently surfaced in the UK under rebuild, after being "found" in a barn???

The machine you are thinking of here is TE384 which is now in California with Ken McBride. The last information I have is that she is under restoration at St.Jose, CA
This is the machine that flew in Australia during the late 1980's and was grounded because of the reasons you mention

As an aside, has anyone got any new information on this machine?
