Photo #4 should be easy to pin down, while the B-29 is making it's pass, is that the RYAN X-13 VERTIJET on it's transportation/launcher trailer I spy in the far left margin? Can't be too many instances of it being publically flown.

The B-29 without it's #4 prop is one of the NACA X plane drop birds @ Eddys Air Patch and may be configured judging by the stabilizing braces for the DOUGLAS D-558-2 SKY ROCKET or the BELL X-2.

I'm not familiar with the type but it's interesting as the LIFE series that image came from has several additional photos of this event. I want to say Ohio but I can't remember where. I'll track down the series again and post the other photos if your interested. Lots seemed to be going on at that event.

Awesome pictures of a bunch of types I never got to see to fly.

Is the big plane inside the hangar and also on the ramp that is dwarfing the B-29s about 7-8 pics down the C-74 Globemaster 1?

It's the one and only DOUGLAS B-19 with both it's ALLISON W-3420's and it's R-2000's, that's also it's nose on the junk pile @ Wright-Pat. The C-74 looked like a huge DC-4 with two blister style canopies that were a long way from popular with those who flew them since both pilots had to duck down below them to have a conversation, sort of the inspiriation for the 'Cone of Silence' on the TV show 'GET SMART' :lol:

The face-painted H-13s were a part of an Army Helicopter Square dance Team which performed 1951-62 with H-13s of various models (they used H-19s for 56-57).

Details can be found in Dancing Rotors by the late Ned Gilliand, a former member and friend, who became a Bell test pilot after retiring from the USA.
The book also looks at the Silver Eagles tem that flew OH-6s in the 70s.

Photo #6, sure are a lot of 'fork tailed Doctor killers' in the foreground.

A BLUE ANGELS F7U-1 (really narrows down the time frame of that show) newest cars I see on the ramp are a 53/54 PONTIAC rag top and a 53/54 Lincoln near the tip of the F-86 vertical fin, a bare metal McDonnell F2H 'BANJO'.

What may be either the first, or a very early round bottom AERO COMMANDER next to a really early FLETCHER FU-24 duster and an early BEECH Twin Bonanza' (a.k.a. Thunderbolt because of the engine......I SAID BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE EXHAUST NOISE)
