Don't know which model this one is, but a number of Mark I and II's did have gear doors on them.

Lot's of Harvard 4's flying in the U.S. with gear doors, I presume it's just the owners choice to do so.

Thanks Rob!

It's a Harvard 4, as Dan said. All the Harvards/T-6/SNJ have gear doors, the reason why the RCAF/CAF elected to leave them off is because they can be a pain in the neck to rig properly, as they always come out of whack.

But they give a much nicer look to the plane.

Canadian built gear legs do not have the (for want of the word) thingy on them that the gear door ajustment rod attachs to, Harvard 2's and 3's, built in the USA did have them.

Harvard 3, eh?

That's not a real aircraft I'm afraid.

Anyhow, how Harvard has them, and we even changed a gear leg with one from our stockpile a while ago and it had the gear door attachment on it.

BTW Eric, very nice T-6, but you sure are courageous to have it that polished!

Are you looking for the word "lugs"? :)

My understanding is that they were left off the Harvard 4 because snow and ice could get packed beween the leg and the door or in the wheelwell and foul the gear somehow.
