I am looking for an original HD file of the picture of Lt Evans on the wing of P-39 Girlie. An lead or hint will be appreciated ! Or if somebodie hs the current contact of Lori Stevens, the grand daughter of Lt Evans, who posted above. Many thank ya'll !

Markings are for the 110th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, Tadji, New Guinea in early 1944. We're still working on acquiring exhaust stacks for the right side although the left side's are installed.

So was this aircraft part of the 110th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, or is it an incorrect restoration job trading the aircrafts real history for something else?

A quick scan through the previous pages of this thread indicates that this is not the original colourscheme for this P-39. The airframe is this one: http://www.warbirdregistry.org/p39-p63r ... 18814.html but there is no clear evidence to show which unit ID was used on this airframe. The aircraft's serial numbers were overpainted when the tails were painted white. Conversely, there is no evidence to show which s/n carried the 'Girlie' colours, so perhaps the colours are authentic...
