Anyone heard of anymore aircraft being sold, I mean the ones that are not on Platinum? My wife wonders what will happen the the cars Yagen has....she loves that red Jag.

Please pardon the slight threadjack

The Jag is a beauty. There's also a really pristine MG Midget right next to it, looks to be a '69 - '72. Wonder if these are for sale, too? They'd be "drops in the bucket" compared to the planes, though. Tag on the Midget says "FLYN SUE".

If I had known that I'd end up purchasing an Austin Healey Sprite, I would have taken more pics of the Midget!

I wonder if the Fury engine has been sold to an airworthy project and the airframe sold on as a static display airframe?

I am wondering if Vintage Wings of Canada got the engine since I recall there was a thread on here a while ago that they were looking for Kestrel parts, just speculation!

As is the Rapide

And, slightly OT, a seemingly obligatory Carbon Cub, that all the best collections seem to be adding these days

Any plans to fly yours again soon Al?

Maybe this Fall. Maybe to a new home? The idea is to replace it with a Curtiss Condor (replica). But that's a subject for a new thread.

It's being made public by docents that no further sales are going to take place, and two new additions are being readied for display- the La-9 is almost fully rebuilt now, and the JN-4 restored in Argentina is now on site and reassembled as well. Still no flying for now, but everything suggests the worst part is finally past.

As you can imagine, this is just phenomenally wonderful news for those of us who live around here. :)

I wonder if there is any intention to start flying again, or will the entire collection remain grounded indefinitely?

Also saw over on Fence Check that one of the original Fw190's is being readied for display and a new PT-19 and J-3 will be arriving soon. Really hoping their flight operations resume sometime soon!

If it means a return to full strength in time for the annual Warbirds over the Beach show next May, I am perfectly content to see the facility save the insurance money and keep the aircraft grounded for the remainder of 2013. Not thrilled, mind you, but they are saving a TON of money with the insurance on hold, not to mention the fuel savings. It's a sound consolidation plan, I think, and should hopefully position the museum favorably for 2014 if all continues to stay on track.

Cheers,

Lynn

The Jenny was started on Thursday. This photo is from Wednesday.

The LA-9 will be flyable status when ready for display (at least that's the plan) while the FW-190 will be display only. These photos are from Wednesday.

What Lynn wrote above about the planes no longer being for sale is true. At this point, only projects are available for sale. This information has been confirmed by the Fighter Factory GM and supervisors. The PT-19 and J3 Cub are on site as of Saturday. The Cub is in storage for now. Here's the PT-19. Photo is from yesterday.
