Hi All,

The thread from a while back in which WIXers listed their most remarkable pieces of memorabilia (and some of the remarkable responses) got me thinking: We have a large number of knowledgable "eyes" posting & lurking here, and I'm sure most would like to help out other WIXers if possible, so...

For what are you searching? Whether you're looking for parts, flight gear, photos, or other ephemera, perhaps one of us will know where to find it.

For me personally, I continue on my quest for bits of the not-quite-ubiquitous TBY-2 Sea Wolf. Other than plastic kits and photos, you're not likely to find much on ebay; however, if you do come across vintage aircraft parts lists and would happen to notice any parts numbers that start with "VS-2" or "VS2" I would really love to hear from you!

Ok, now it's your turn. What can the rest of us help you find?

Jay Whisler has some Sea Wolf parts advertised for sale on his website (including a complete windshield assemby).

Thanks for responding, Laurent. I already have examples of everything Jay offers (The windshield assembly for sale is the last of three. I purchased number 2. The first is with a historical group in Pennsylvania).

Your quick response, however, proves my point. C'mon WIXers, why wouldn't you want to make use of almost 900 registered warbird fans (and even more lurkers) to help you find that elusive bit?

Your silence has me mystified...

ok - Here's my TOTALLY, back in the corner, under the dust, behind the false door in your uncles, cousins, aunts barn.

ANYTHING off of a JB-2 would be great! The Wendover museum has a few pieces including a fuselage section but not enough to make a decent exhibit.

Of course if you have a warbird you'd like us to hangar and care for I'm ok with that to

Thanks,

Tom P.

With or without camera ports on the Aim-9's? The basic dummy missle is nothing more than some machined Al tubing and some stainless weldments, unless you want actual functional aft gyro vanes. Then it gets a little more complicated.

I just posted a need over here before reading your post. You’re right Dan, this is a great resource.

P.S. I’ve been to Princeton! Nice town.

We have always made our own from raw stock. One of our designers did up a set of prints and we just fabbed them up as necessary. The ones that have live tails are Gov't Furnished. The same basic body is used for lots of purposes. A small lathe and a tabletop mill are all you really need to fab your own.

MX304,

Did you see this ad posted on barnstormers back in September?

http://www.barnstormers.com/Piston+Engi ... ifieds.htm

Maybe it's still worth a call...maybe not!
