that last one is great! I love the info, what font is that?

Thanks!

Well, I took a wartime photo with the tags on the bottom and superimposed it over the image. Made a few mods to the date and other info using the clone tool and then, with the brush, traced over the tags on a new layer.

I've tried to find a decent font that would look convincing, but no luck yet.

Dam you guys are good. My fav has to be the last one with the P-40's. I wish more were painted in the standard Army markings and not the AVG. I also miss the Armor plate backing for the mustangs. A dead give away!! Your right about the too pretty paint. Hard to believe that invasion stripes were painted by hand in WW2. By looking at todays airplanes, unless you know your history, john Q public thinks thats probably what they looked like.

But luckily he knows they are invasion stripes, even if they are too pretty. I agree though, I would love to see a P-51 done up like a combat veteran

Back to the subject at hand. My original goal was to make the photo look like a B&W pencil drawing. I think this one is more successful in that regard

Here are a few more. 3 of them I've been meaning to play with for a while but finally got around to it.

I'm using he Editing software that came with my Digital Rebel XT. Someday I will buy PhotoShop (yes, buy it).

I hope you don't mind Don, but I took some liberties with your photo. I liked the concept.

You might want to sit down first, the sticker shock is major:

You can do most of this with Photoshop Elements which only costs around $100 dineros, depending on where you go...........
