I'm going to make a trip to the library in the next few days to research and print out some USN Aircraft History Cards. I don't have all of the reels, but I do have most of the reels that cover the F4U Corsair, with some SNJ, F4F, and other types included.

if anyone has any special requests (by Bureau Number), just respond to this thread with the type and BuNo of the plane you're interested in. If your BuNo is included in my collection of microfilm reels, then I will print it out the card(s) for you. Please limit your requests to one or two planes each.

From my Dilberts Still Fly booklet I was able to read these four BuNos of N2S Stearmans that cracked up at NAS Glenview during the war: 07833, 38348, 38352 and 38357. I know it's more than a couple, but please just pick what you can get to. Thanks!

Hi Rob,

Thank you for offering. When you would have some spare time, I am interested in SNJ-5 Bu51819, now active in Germany and former Spanish Air Force, and SNJ-4 Bu26506, the only SNJ that served with the Belgian Air Force.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Benno, The Netherlands

Just to clarify, I'll be visiting my local library to research the AHC microfilm that's already in my possession. :)

For reference, here are the Bureau Numbers that are present on the reels that I have. Note that that these are divided up into two separate year groups: 1911-1949, and 1950-1962. If the Bureau Number you are interested in is shown in this list, then I should be able to pull the cards for reference.

Reel 10 (1911-1949) BuNos. 2025-2819
Reel 13 (1911-1949) BuNos. 4500-05179
Reel 17 (1950-1962) BuNos. 88069-90912
Reel 19 (1950-1962) BuNos. 91479-92462
Reel 22 (1911-1949) BuNos. 13408-15462
Reel 24 (1911-1949) BuNos. 17352-19399
Reel 44 (1911-1949) BuNos. 55288-57076
Reel 45 (1911-1949) BuNos. 57077-58732
Reel 47 (1911-1949) BuNos. 63000-68063
Reel 52 (1911-1949) BuNos. 74982-77570
Reel 54 (1911-1949) BuNos. 79108-80896
Reel 55 (1911-1949) BuNos. 80897-82212
Reel 56 (1911-1949) BuNos. 82213-83662
Reel 58 (1911-1949) BuNos. 85974-89047
Reel 60 (1911-1949) BuNos. 91366-94288
Reel 61 (1911-1949) BuNos. 94289-99845
Reel 62 (1911-1949) BuNos. 99846-123782
Reel 63 (1950-1962) BuNos. 0001-20040
Reel 71 (1950-1962) BuNos. 63032-69449
Reel 72 (1911-1949) BuNos. 69450-77701
Reel 75 (1950-1962) BuNos. 80393-81242
Reel 76 (1950-1962) BuNos. 81244-82854
Reel 78 (1950-1962) BuNos. 85156-88059

Reel 82 (1950-1962) BuNos. 92463-94156
Reel 84 (1950-1962) BuNos. 95006-96964
Reel 85 (1950-1962) BuNos. 96965-111831
Reel 87 (1950-1962) BuNos. 121477-121984

Reel 93 (1950-1962) BuNos. 124513-125056

Shuttle 50...I should be able to pull the cards for your SNJ-6 up though 1949. I don't have the second reel for BuNo.112070, which would detail the history of the plane from 1950 forward, if in fact it was in active service for that long.

Chris...I should be able to pull the card on the firist N2S you mentioned (BuNo.07833), but I don't have the reel for the other three.

BennoT6...It looks like I don't have the Reels for either of your T6 requests.

DaveG...I should have no problem pulling the Cards for F4U-4, BuNo.96802.

I would certainly appreciate it if you would please do Avengers 85597 and 85665 from Reel 78?
Thank you. I shot this photo of 85665 as CF-IMV in Gander, late July 1968. Should have made this view smaller!

Rob,

If possible, I would like copies of the USN Aircraft History Cards for the following two aircraft:

TBM-3E BuNo 91436 reel 60

TBM-3E BuNo 85828 reel 78

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi Rob,

Was wondering if a second request is allowed, since first one didn't work out :-)

Would you have the info of :
reel 79: Bu90747, (also) former Spanish Air Force C6-135 and now active in France as F-AZRB
reel 62: Bu112067, (also) former Spanish Air Force C6-179 and now active in France as F-AZBE(2)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Wishing you, and all other forum readers, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Regards,

Benno, The Netherlands

Thank you Rob for keeping me in mind as well. I'd say your beginning to get your dance card quite full with requests. If by some chance down the road you have additional time and interest here's a few of Dad's logged Corsairs.
