World War II print ads.
These ads abounded during World War II and were used reinforce brand awareness while a company was supporting the war effort instead of being able to provide consumer goods.
Nearly all these images are from the collection of Benoit De Mulder. Thank you Benoit for sharing these with us.

Those poster images take on a life of their own... my wife went to London on a business trip last year; she brought me back a coffee mug with the Hurricane picture shown here on it. Minus the text, of course.

And in a larger sense, it makes me think. Several times a week my commute takes me through the Pentagon Metro station. It is always filled with billboard-sized ads for one gov't contractor or another, from Lockheed Martin to Beltway Bandits you've never heard of before or since. I wonder if in 75 years anyone will remember those ads?

It's great to see ads showing (with a bit of dramatic license of course) actual missions.
It looks like they even tried to get the Russian Yaks, Stuka and the Do-17 correct.

Thanks for sharing.

BTW: in most American recruiting ads I've seen, they tend to use early war types...P-40s, and early model B-17s and Thunderbolts.
