Hi WIXers!
Saw this today on Barnstormers under Warbirds and wondered if its a "piece together bunch of parts", or a former flyer worth saving for a museum or private collection:
I sent an email and left message for owner of add.
I can not see any serial or markings to identify the aircraft in the photo's

Its been up for sale for several months. Ben must not want to sell it. I've try contacting him several times and he never returns my calls. Might be one of those cases where "if you have to ask how much it is you can't afford it". :?

52-5303 is owned by Walt Powell and located in PA. It hasn't been in FL for many a year!

52-5303 c/n 193-32
513th FIS, Manston
ret to US via Warner Robins Air Materiel Area
to Sacramento Air Materiel Area 05Dec55
to Pacific Airmotive at Chino for overhaul 24Jun57
to 3525th CCTW 24Feb58
to 4530th CCTW 01Jul58
to 4510th CCTW 28Jul60
(accident Luke AFB 17Aug61 after right main undercarriage failed to extend on landing, aircraft landed on drop tank and wingtip, aviation cadet Nosratellah Abullahi-Fard (IIAF) uninjured)
to 4520th CCTW 08Sep62
to Davis Monthan 01Jul66, park code FC276, declared excess 13Apr72
to Aberdeen Proving Ground ranges, MD as ‘131’
noted as fwd fuselage at Kent County DE .94
to Anoka County Airport MN owned by Roger Johnson
sold to Walt Powell and restored in Titusville FL, then to new museum site in PA.

Walt now has an F-86H, so I guess the F-86F is surplus to requirements. It would be nice to see it restored in 513th FIS colours an 2Lt Jay Vandertoll's machine, as it was circa 1952-55.

I think it's on Walt's property. I imagine he'll be contactable thru the ad or in the local phone book.
