Anyone see the recent Lexus automobile commercial on TV with warbirds as the backdrop? Where was is shot? I recall seeing one or more AT-6 Texans, a Twin Beech, and what looked like a Lodestar, plus others. Just curious.

Saw it the other day. My best guess was that it's at Falcon Field in Arizona:

Certainly appears to be the old WW2 hangars at Falcon Field in Mesa. These were the hangars that used to house the Champlin Fighter Museum collection.

Let's see, what are we up to with warbird related automobile advertisements? We have:
  • Dodge and CAF SoCal's F6F(1, 2)
  • Dodge and EAA's B-25 nose mockup
  • I seem to remember hearing that Ford filmed something about one of their trucks towing their PB4Y into the former bomber plant.

Did I miss any?

Yes, those hangars do look like Falcon Field.
I did my graduate work at ASU circa 1990, Doug Champlin was kind enough for me to do a project there, so I got to spend some time with him and his collection.
A rare treat!

As Far as ads go, I know of some print, not TV ones you might remember. A 1977 Oldsmont Tornado XSR.
However, that version of the Toronado was never built, GM pulled the plug at the last minute because the power T-tops could not be made water tight (that never stopped them before!).
They did make a Tornado XS with that distinctive rear window, few were built. Most, if not all, had a power moonroof. A friend has two for sale, found in a barn among a farmer's hoard of 70s luxury cars.

Here is a Mustang with a '72 Olds Toronado.
The paint scheme is pretty typical for the pre-warbird paint era. Looks like the scheme Cavalier used. The colors remind me to the copper seen on the Fornoff's Bearcats.

Also, in the '90s, Buick did a print ad with a polished CW-22.
I believe the photo was taken at Santa Rosa.

As many will recall, this aircraft still sits at the Don Q Inn at Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

SAAB did a few commercials combining their car and jet products.

As a kid living in Minnesota, where SAABs were popular, I recall an ad with an old SAAB (a 96?) and a then current, Draken.

I remember a print ad many years ago that had Battle of Britain veteran Ginger Lacy with two Spitfires ( Triumph and Supermarine). “Not only do get the car and the girl, you get a piece of history”
