Was fortunate enough to visit the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in Denver recently - very impressive!

Here is a link to my images of their Stanley Aviation display of their little-known, but very successful, Yankee Extraction Seat. Enjoy

Hi All,

We’ve added another pair of Colorado galleries to our collection.

First up is the combination tour of The National Museum of WWII Aviation and Westpac.

What a fabulous museum!! An outstanding presentation and collection with the added benefit of a tour of the Westpac restoration hangar! Great stuff!

NOTE: In certain photos from inside Westpac, portions are blurred to conform with the stated request to NOT photograph the P-38 under restoration for an anonymous owner.

Gallery #2 is of the famous/infamous C-97 Airplane Restaurant - which I cleverly found by accidentally driving by on my way out of the WWII Aviaton museum.

Enjoy!

Hello All,

We’ve added a gallery of images from Peterson Air & Space Museum located on Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.

Highlights were the docent led tour inside the EC-121T Warning Star and the museum hangar housing the P-47N, Minuteman III Trainer, numerous Satellite and NORAD displays.

It’s a terrific museum with a wonderful staff!

Hello,

During a recent visit to Denver, I had the chance to return to a much changed Wings Over The Rockies museum. Now sporting a new entryway, an elevated display - beautifully presented - of the B-52 out front and a very cool giant aircraft mobile in the entryway.

This continues to be one of my favorite threads on WIX. Thanks for taking the time to post your photos and share them. It's interesting to see what's displayed around the country.

Amazing photos! I'm working on a similar project myself and have been to a number of museums in the US and Europe. Looking through your collection though has made me realize there's still a TON out there to see! Makes me so happy that history from the last 75+ years has been so well preserved

Hi all,

We’ve added a gallery of images of recent additions to the collections of Aircraft and Armor at the newly rechristened Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum in Everett, WA.

The gallery begins with the additions to the Armor collection and moves onto images of the gorgeous new de Havilland Mosquito, some images of the ME-163B in a more flattering display position, and a few shots of the F-105G and UH-1B and some other familiar friends.
