In 1947 Brazil recieved 25 P47s from the USAF with 24 being delivered and one lost on the ferry flight. Does anyone have a list of the serials for those P47s? My understanding is that they were all P47D-30-RAs.

I was going to trawl the record cards but Baugher did it already!

See here: F-47D-28 onwards by the looks.

Yeah I'm familiar with Joe's site. However, I'm looking for the serial number for a P47D-40-RA that crashed in 1947 and haven't found it on his site yet. It was part of a flight of 25 P47D's sold to Brazil in 1947 and crashed in the Gulf due to an engine failure.

So, it's not 45-49126 ?

From Baugher:

49126 (MSN 5665) 267th Base Unit, 2nd AF, Fort Sumner Field, NM; 4185th Base Unit, Air Materiel Command,
Independence Field, MO; Oklahoma Air Material Area, Tinker Field, Oklahoma City, OK;
San Antonio Air Materiel Area, Air Materiel Command, Kelly Field, San Antonio, TX;
American Republics Project 73002; 4121st Base Unit, Kelly Field, San Antonio, TX;
To Força Aérea Brasileira 5Jun47 as serial 4156; Crashed in sea 13Aug47 near Tallahassee, FL
on delivery flight to Brasil.
