Your welcome and yep! just another day in SoCal :| .... thoughts and prayers to those affected by the fires. I'm about a 1/2 hour up the coast from these photos, but I did drive through them today as I had to go to Van Nuys for a business meeting. I got home about an hour or so ago and I smell like a chimney.

As I was driving down to LA this morning the fire had jumped the 101 freeway briefly.

I tend to avoid the oft overused expletive "awesome" but those shots are stunners. The palm trees, beach and especially the city panorama captures are awesome! WOW! The city shot is a prize winner...Thanks again for sharing!

I'm just thankful that not all of the tankers were off station when this happened and so there's plenty of large assets available to help when the winds are low enough to allow fixed-wing tankers. And to bring this back to topic - Erickson, former operator of the MiniGuppy (a Stratofreighter at heart), is on site with both fixed and rotary assets fighting the fire. Haven't seen the DC-6s in any of the shots, but the MD-80(s) has made drops and at least 2 of their Skycranes are working as well. Coulson has even pulled back one of the C-130s that was about to go to Australia to help.
