I just caught the end of Mail Call which paid a visit to Minot AFB, N. Dakota. Gunney spent one hour paying tribute and showing footage of the B-52 Stratofortress. The portion of the show I did see looked very interesting. A quick search of the program guide revealed the show will be on again tonite at 11pm central time.

I caught the show last night & I think the Gunney did a pretty good job. Hard to believe how long the Buff has been around! :D

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to record this, forgot then came on here and you reminded me. That guy can barely speak english but the show was good. I had to do a double take because about 43 minutes into the show I saw a long time friend of mine who I have lost touch with. In the scene where Le May walks up to that B-52 crew (it's at March Field) the pilot he pins the medal on is Capt Chuck Fink who later became a Lt Col. He was the pilot of the Lonesome George. Fink can also be seen speaking to Le May just before the medal pinning. A few minutes later a B-52 is seen taxying in front of a crowd at March and it's part of the same flight. This was the landing of the B-52 around the world flight that took place on 18 Jan, 1957. It was called Operation Power Flight and involved three B-52s. It's really sad how we've lost touch....long story of what happens when you don't take your meds. (Not me)

John
