Support an historic AH-1 Cobra

"Last year in March Army Aviation Heritage Foundation started a project aircraft (295) , uniquely, the 50th Cobra built by Bell. Last year in March was 5O years since Bell submitted a Engineering Change Proposal and won the contract for the first 110 UH-1Gs that became known as the AH-1G Cobra. In September of this year it will be 50 years ago that the AH-1G Cobra was introduced to Vietnam. AAHF is in a race to bring this aircraft 295 back to life as it looked in 1966. It has a storied history that continues to grow as we connect with many of the members that flew and worked on this aircraft.
She was assigned to:
•TRP A 1ST OF THE 9TH CAV 1ST CAV (RVN) Feb 1968
•355TH AVIATION CO (FT SILL) MARCH 1968
•229TH ABAH 1ST CAV (RVN) AUGUST 1968
•A TRP 7TH Squadron 17Cav (RVN) Sept 1969
•361st Assault Helicopter Co (RVN) Jan 1971
•235th Assault Helicopter Co (Ft Knox) Oct 1973
•C trp 7th of the 1st Cav (Ft Knox) Oct 1975
•D Trp 4th 12th Cav (Ft Polk) Oct 1977
•Air Troop 2nd ACR (Germany) Jun 1982
•E Trp 2nd 17th Cav (Ft Campbell) June 1991
•Co R 4th of 278th ACR (Smyrna) Oct 1994
•Ft Drum DOL (New York) Sept 2001
•AAHF (Georgia) July 2005
AAHF needs your support to continue the project to its completion. This drawing is signed by the Bell Engineer, Mike Folse, (a limited quantity of these are available) who singularly conceptualized and created the first designed attack helicopter.

I don't want to interrupt your request with another "commercial", but I'd be remiss not to add that readers can also support another Cobra by buying a ride in one based at Mesa, Arizona's Falcon Field. Not inexpensive, but worth considering and probably well worth if if one has already done the more common warbird rides.

No worries, just sharing info for those with a love of the Cobra and the Vietnam era. Incidentally, I appreciate your mention of the Arizona Cobra, as it belongs to a recently added chapter of AAHF, so it's the same organization. As a career airplane pilot, I can say that the purchase of a front-seat Cobra ride is worth every penny ... what a unique experience!

Regarding the round canopy, are you guys scratch building it or are you mounting an existing canopy to make it look like how it came out of the factory?

They got original parts from somewhere.
