I finally got around to moving all the Airplane pictures on my computer to Flikr and started an album for birds on display on sticks and in parks. I was going to revive the old thread on this topic, but many of the pictures there are no longer displayed.
I found many of these using Mike H's locator, anytime I'm travelling to a new area, I check the locator for new birds to photograph-

OH! That poor Dog model Sabre! Having rescued one from a pole unless the guardians put a lot of effort into it they become a royal mess in a big hurry.

That picture is from 1995. I have not been to Wells since then, but will grab a pic the next time I am in the area.

wow, cool pics of that '109. Something not quite "right" about it though... maybe a partial mock-up? Of note are how far the mg's stick out of the cowling... seems to have a full-ish cockpit though. Nice polished prop too. Guess they locked the leading edge slats down too.

very cool!

cheers

I have recent shots of the Mustang at Volks Field. I'll be happy to email them to someone willing to post them.

Also, there is a F-102 on a stick at Fairchild AFB...

A I'm sure the P-40 is a replica...Dyess has one too (marked as Lt. Col. Dyess' aircraft in the Philippines.

If I missed it in the other posts, I apologize...the very first image is of a T-38, not a T-33.

Thanks, all most interesting.

Took a wrong turn off the autobahn and was surprised to find this outside Memmingen airport, in southern Germany.

The Lance Sijan memorial F-4 Phantom in Milwaukee is in the process of being moved to it's new area. The dedication for the new display is planned to be Friday May 26th, for the start of the Memorial Day weekend.
